The Akron Music Institute offers private lessons in piano, violin, cello, guitar, voice, flute, clarinet, and saxophone led by a world-class faculty of accomplished performers and dedicated educators with a true passion for teaching.
Students at AMI enjoy access to our bi-annual recitals at the downtown Akron Art Museum. Held in the late Spring and Fall, we encourage students to dress for the occasion and invite family and friends to celebrate their musical achievements in a stunning performance space. All recitals are professionally photographed and streamed.

Our Spring recitals are accompanied by the Annual Ear Training Olympics, an event where students have the opportunity to compete for prizes and flex their ear training skills. Intervals, triads, scales, and 7th chords are played aloud while students attempt to identify them by ear, taking a step closer to the prize table with every correct answer in front of a live audience!

We offer students the opportunity to attend and perform in quarterly masterclasses featuring renowned performing artists and teachers from around the country.
