PIANO FACULTY
about lindsay
Lindsay Fox has had a passion and love for music since her early childhood years. All it took was one day, sitting down at the piano at the age of four and sounding out a tune from “The Sound of Music” for it to become very apparent that piano was going to be an integral part of her life. Ever since then, she has found it to be a great joy to share her passion and love for music in various ways throughout her life.
She began taking private lessons at the age of four in San Diego, California, and then transitioned to the Cleveland Institute of Music at the age of eight when her family moved back to Ohio, which had always been “home”. There, she studied for 10 years with Olga Radosavljevich, Dina Khudayberdieva, and Sandra Shapiro growing her technique and abilities as a classically trained pianist. In addition, she took lessons through the Cleveland Music School Settlement with Dina Khudayberdieva to further her abilities in mastering the piano. During this time, she participated in many competitions and recitals, as well as enjoyed accompanying the choir and show choir at Solon High School where she graduated in 2002. Upon her high school graduation, she received a scholarship to The University of Akron where she pursued Piano Performance. During her time there she studied with Mayumi Kikuchi and Philip Thomson, and participated in many events including multiple performances for “MonsterPianos!”
Over the years and many performances, while enjoyable, she found her true passion lied in teaching. She began teaching private lessons while a student herself in 2002. Almost 23 years later, her passion for teaching and sharing the joys of music has not diminished in the slightest. In that 23 years, she has taught countless students, some of which started with her at the very beginning and now are graduating from Conservatory. That, to her, is one of the things that brings her the most joy in teaching and sharing music – watching beginners grow and learn to become amazing musicians themselves! She has also taught piano in various countries around the world including Cambodia, Vietnam, and Ecuador. Her experience has given her adaptability to different learning styles and cultures, and her wish is to cater to each student in their own unique way in order for them to grow to their greatest potential.
