the flute division
The flute program at AMI is comprehensive and designed for students of all levels, from young beginners to advanced flutists. Our expert faculty work closely with each student to create a personalized lesson plan that emphasizes strong technique, beautiful tone production, expressive musicality, and confident performance skills. In addition to one-on-one instruction, students are offered opportunities to participate in masterclasses, recitals, and chamber ensembles, allowing them to share their musical growth in an encouraging and supportive environment.

Our curriculum also integrates music theory, ear training, and historical context to enrich students’ understanding of the flute and its repertoire. Learners are encouraged to explore a wide variety of styles—ranging from classical and orchestral works to chamber music, jazz, and contemporary pieces—selecting music that inspires them while supporting their technical development. Whether preparing for auditions, pursuing music as a career, or simply playing for enjoyment, students in our flute program gain the skills, knowledge, and artistry to grow into confident and expressive musicians.
